Here are the most Frequently Asked Questions and answers to what people should know about holding a job with Sapp Bros.

Q: Can I choose which store I work in?
A: Yes and no. If you are applying for an entry level position then yes. The only time you would be denied this option is if the position you are applying for is not available at the desired location. In upper management positions, the position is almost always at one particular location at a time and sometimes requires relocation.

Q: Will I have to work weekends and holidays?
A: Yes. Sapp Bros. stores are always open and most team members will have to work at least one day on the weekend. If your regular schedule falls on a holiday, you will work and earn time and a half pay for the holiday.

Q: How often do we get paid?
A: Paydays are currently every two weeks.

Q: How long does it take to get promoted?
A: It depends on available opportunities and on your performance. Whenever possible, we promote from within.

Q: What do I have to do to get promoted?
A: A number of factors are evaluated in employment. Key factors include outstanding customer service skills, cash and inventory accuracy, teamwork, work pace, punctuality and dependability.

Q: Will I get a meal break?
A: Yes, all employees receive a half hour lunch break if scheduled for 5 or more hours.. During an 8 hour shift, employees may also take up to two 15 minute discretionary breaks provided the store is not too busy and work is being completed in a timely manner.

Q: What kind of security measures do you have?
A: Sapp Bros. is very concerned about the security of its team members. Security cameras are in place and security guards are present in locations as needed. Cash in the stores is kept to a minimum and whenever possible cashiers do not work alone.

Q: Will I have to work a lot of overtime?
A: Sapp Bros. does not require mandatory overtime. However, on occasion, overtime may be offered to cover vacations or illness. All hours worked over 40 during a week are paid at time and a half.

Q: Does Sapp Bros. offer tuition assistance?
A: Yes! We feel an individual who possesses a desire to continue their education, shows a commitment to improving themselves. To encourage and reward these individuals, Sapp Bros. offers and Education Assistance benefit. Full time employees may continue their education in a related field and Sapp Bros. may reimburse all or part of the registration and tuition costs.
